EAI (Enterprise Application Integration)

It is the general term for integration, regardless of whether the integration is connecting apps within a company or is done between two companies. It is divided into two parts:

1.A2A 2.B2B

1.A2A (Application to Application):

Application to application integration within the organization or behind the firewall. When you want to communicate with any application in one company (XYZ Ltd), that time you go with A2A/EAI.

For example, if one company ABC has implemented the SAP and say there will be several departments (modules like Sales, Material Mgmt etc..) So if Sale department is dealing with the Material management department within the company then you will say it is A2A.

2.B2B (Business to Business):

Business to Business Integration between two different organizations or different firewalls. When the company (XYZ Ltd) wants to communicate with another company(ABC Ltd), that time you go with B2B. For B2B, we use mostly AS2 for integrating between two different organizations.

You can select Enterprise Server for integrating anything behind the firewall and Integration Server for integrating partners(B2B).
